Mangaluru, Mar 25: Kudremukh Iron Ore Company Ltd (KIOCL) has entered into an agreement with the Institute of Minerals and Materials Technology (IMMT) based in Bhubaneswar for separating minerals. The agreement was signed at Bengaluru by Maloy Chatterjee, chief executive officer of KIOCL and Baradakanta Mishra, director, IMMT.
Speaking on the occasion, Chatterjee said that the agreement will pave way for opening of iron ore units in Odisha. He explained that IMMT will be providing the skill and design for the purpose, helping his company to tap into the mineral potential of that state.
He said that KIOCL at present has been manufacturing 22.5 crore metric tonnes of iron ore annually. He added that the pelletization plant of KIOCL at Mangaluru with a capacity 3.5 lac metric tonnes per year, has now been producing soft iron.
