Udupi, Mar 23: Hundreds of devotees gathered to take part in the way of the cross which was organized by parish pastoral council at Udupi deanery level at St. Antony’s church, Kuntalnagar on Sunday, March 22 evening.
Fr. Clifford Fernandes, lecturer at St. Joseph’s seminary, Jeppu Mangaluru conducted the way of the cross which was carried out very meaningfully with appropriate bible reading and the reflection of real life in each station of way of the cross.
Fr Fredrick Mascarenhas, parish priest of Mother of Sorrows church, Udupi celebrated the holy Eucharist along with other co celebrants.
Fr. Clifford Fernandez said in his message that, "It is better to live with love rather die with anger. We should think what God wants from us. God wants everyone to live in peace and harmony. Let us live in the light of God. If once we forgive an offender, God will listen to our prayer. So let give up our annoyance and live in peace. Health and peace would be spoiled by anger. Let us walk in the way of Forgiveness."
He also gave some examples of old testament who had suffered due to anger.
Fr Denis D’sa, PRO of Udupi diocese and parish priest of Kuntalnagar thanked all the devotees for participating in the event and making it successful.
Nearly nine hundred devotees gathered from various places of Udupi district to observe the vibrant event.
Fr Chetan Lobo, editor of Uzwad fornightly, Fr Steevan D’Souza, director of Divya Joythi Udupi Diocese, Fr Roque D’souza , parish priest of Udayavar, Fr Jerome Monteiro and former Union minister Oscar Fernandes were present.
