Mangaluru, Mar 22: 'Cataract Woes 2015' a symposium on complications of cataract surgeries was held at Father Muller Medical College (FMMC) here on Sunday March 22.
Fr Patrick Rodrigues, director, FMCI, inaugurated the symposium.
Addressing the gathering, Fr Rodrigues said, "Cataract is related to eye surgery. Doctors should know and conduct studies on cataract in order to deliver good results to patients suffering from this problem. Father Muller hospital has all the neccesary facilities including cataract technology and many other technologies required to treat patients."
Dr Madhav Honnatti, former president of KOS Jyothi LASIK Vision Centre, Honnatti Eye Hospital, Davangere, said, "Some years ago there was no technology to treat patients. But today we have all the neccesary facilities to treat people if they meet with an accident or any thing happens, but the problem today is shortage of doctors. Such symposium will help all doctors to converge under one roof and gain more knowledge in their field, which in turn would benefit their patients."
Dr Norman Mendonca, organizing chairman welcomed the gathering and Dr Sunayana Bhat, organizing secretary delivered vote of thanks.
Fr Richard Coelho, administrator, FMMCH, Fr Rudolph Ravi D'sa, Dr J P Alva, dean, FMMC and Dr Sripathi Kamath, organising secretary and others were present.
