Mangaluru, Mar 21: To mark the year of consecrated life, declared by Pope Francis, the spiritual committee of the diocese of Mangaluru organized a one day seminar on religious life for all the religious of the diocese on March 21 at Divine Mercy Church, Jeppu Mangaluru.
Fr Denis Moras Prabhu the vicar general of the diocese of Mangaluru inaugurated the seminar with prayer. In his inaugural address he appreciated the efforts of the spiritual committee, CRI and the episcopal vicar for religious in organizing the seminar. He also acknowledged the presence and services of religious, both men and women in the diocese specially in the spiritual field due to which Mangaluru diocese has become a model for others in India.
Fr Pio Mascarehnas SJ the resource person from Mumbai, Sr Elsis Mathew, Sr Shalini AC president CRI Mangalore, Fr Pius D'souza vicar for religious, M P Noronha secretary diocesan pastoral parish, Fr Denis Moras Prabhu vicar general diocese of Mangaluru and Fr Andrew D'souza convener spiritual committee were present on the dais.
Call and nature of religious life, the mission of the religious and how to make religious life relevant in the present world were the major issues dealt at the seminar by the concerned resource persons.
More than 800 religious from different congregations participated in the seminar. Fr Andrew welcomed the gathering and Br Rony and team lead the choir.
