Moodbidri, Mar 20: “CC camera in the police department is useful in prevention of crime, maintaining security in society, and many other purposes,” said Padmanabha, police inspector, Moodbidri.
He was speaking after inaugurating a CC camera donated for the Bus Owners’ Association bus stand in Moodbidri on Thursday March 19. The programme was held at Indira Gandhi commercial building.
“There is a CC camera for every 37 people in London. Technology is a part of social development. Nearly 100 places are identified for the installation of CC cameras in Moodbidri and 35 are already functioning. CC cameras are useful in police investigations,” he said.
Canara Bus Owners’ Association president Rajavarma Ballal who presided over the programme said, “Though there was a demand to the association for the installation of CC camera in Mangaluru bus stand, Moodbidri got the first chance. We assure of our co-operation for
programmes that are useful to citizens,” he said.
Town municipal council president Supriya D Shetty and council member P K Thomas were present. Moodbidri Bus Owners’ Association president Narayana P M welcomed. Shashi Ameen proposed the vote of thanks.
