Mangaluru, Mar 20: A complaint has been filed by a visa aspirant at Bunder police station here, alleging that a person who had made him believe that he would get work visa in Singapore, had defrauded him.
S Muhammed Shariff, in his complaint, has named the accused as Prakash of the city-based Samruddhi Associates. Shariff says that Prakash had assured him to provide utility worker visa to work in Singapore. On the basis of this promise, he said, he paid Rs 1,30,000 on April 3 last year. Shariff said he was harassed repeatedly whenever he approached the firm with a request either to provide him visa or return his money. He has also alleged that when he pursued his demand for money refund, the employees of the said firm had posed him death threat.
The police have registered the complaint and begun investigation.
