Mangalore, Feb 9: St Mary's Higher Primary School at Kinnigoly near here celebrated its annual day on Wednesday February 7 at the school premises. The school which has a history of 103 years has been the alma mater of many famous personalities including Dr Devi Shetty, famous cardiac surgeon of Narayana Hrudayalaya, Bangalore.

Catholic education Board secretary Fr Wilson D’Souza presided over the function. Editor of Yugapurusha, Bhuvanabhirama Udupa, Venkatesh Pai, Mulki zonal education coordinator, ZP member Shaila Sequeira, Mennabettu panchayat president Savitri Shetty and school committee member Valerian Sequeira, were present on the dais.

Fr Wilson D’Souza while recalling his days in the school, advised the students to uphold good values and become better citizens. Bhuvanabhirama Udupa, Karnataka Yekikarana and district Rajyotsava awardee and Nagaraja Shenoy, a brilliant student of the school were honoured on the occasion.

Coordinator Fr Patrick Rodrigues welcomed the guests. Headmistress Annette Lobo read out the annual report. Juliana D’Souza gave the vote of thanks. Lavina Rodrigues compered the programe.

A cultural programme was presented by the students.
