Mangaluru, Mar 9: Karnataka Konkani Sahithya Academy in association with Mathra Chaya Trust, Honnavara will be organizing a-three day 'Konkani porab 2015' at Eco beach, Kasarakod in Honnavara beginning from March 15, informed a press meet held here on Monday March 9.
Programme details:
Sunday March 15 at 3.30 pm- Shobha yaatre will begin and it will be inaugurated by Mankala Subba Vaidya.
On the same day at 6 pm inaugural ceremony will be held and R V Deshpande, minister for higher education and tourism will inaugurate the function.
Monday March 16 at 4.00 pm multi language poetry session will be held and it will be inaugurated by state level award winner litterateur Vidambari.
Tuesday March 17 at 6.00 pm valedictory ceremony will be held and different cultural programmes will be held.
Roy Castelino, president of Konkani Sahithya Acadamy explained the different state level programmes undertaken by the academy in the past one year in his leadership and the details are as follows:
March 16, 2014 konkani jagrathi abhiyan was conducted.
April 8, 2014 konkani teachers yearly conference was held.
May 8, 2014 launching of 2 books every month programme was inaugurated.
June 24, 2014 mobile bazaar project was inaugurated and spring celebration, Bangaluru.
June 22, 2014 honorary award, Dharwad
July 3, 2014 konkani club was formed
August 20, 2014 konkani maanyatha day celebration
September 2, 2014 konkani teachers day celebration
September 14, 2014 konkani literacy abhiyaan, Balehonnur

Along with the above programmes, the academy has conducted different trainings to protect folk art and literature, study on literature and research, library development, taking books and collecting them, discussing with different organizations and taking their advice and awarding people who have done great works in the field of konkani art, literature, folkart and drama.
He also added, “Konakani sahitya academy is the first academy in Karnataka to have transparency in its operations. All the payments are made through cheques. In the coming days, transactions will be made through RTGS to make it more transparent. Maximum details are provided on the academy website. Academy gets 65 lacs grant including last years outstanding balance wherein the academy had 1.20 crores and 1.10 crores which is already spent on different programmes. Academy has conducted all the members meetings about 5 times and 13 times by the sahitya commitee. These meetings discussed different issues and necessary actions have been taken."
'Saadaneya hejjeya guruthugalu' CD was released on the occasion.
