Mumbai, Feb 3: Congress (I) candidate Clive George Dias of Andheri (E) ward no. 73 has won the election defeating Moorji Patil of NCP. Former mayor of municipal corporation and BJP candidate Rajesh Sharma has been pushed to the third position.
Hailing from Kundapur in Udupi district, Dias contested from MLA Suresh Shetty’s MIDC region. He gained the candidature through the staunch support of MP Priya Dutt.
Dias got 5,600 votes from total 18,400 votes. He won by a margin of 1,200 votes. Supporters and well – wishers thronged Dias’s office at Marol and celebrated his victory.
