Kasargod, Feb 23: After a motor bike and car got involved with head-on collision at Peruvad near Mogral here on national highway 66 on the night of Saturday February 21, a youth lost his life. Another youngster suffered grave injuries.
The deceased has been identified as Sachin alias Appu (23), son of retired KSRTC driver, Bhaskar. Appu was a resident of Vivekananda Nagar in Koodlu here. His friend, Abhishek from Casba Kadappura, was also rushed to a hospital in Mangaluru immediately after the accident along with Appu, considering the gravity of their wounds. Abhishek was riding the pillion. While Abhishek survived, Appu was not so lucky. His end came on the morning of Sunday February 22.
The deceased was working in Kumble branch of Muthoot Finance. He had left from his workplace in Kumble at around 7.30 on Saturday to go home, when a car that was going to Mangaluru airport from the town hit his motor bike.
Appu is survived by parents and two brothers. It is a second death in Appu's house within a span of few years. His only sister Saritha had died when a bus had hit her near Kasargod bus stand.
Kumble police have registered the case.
