Bangalore / Casablanca, Feb 19 : In a sensational revelation, daijiworld has reliably learnt from Moroccan sources that a senior police official of ACP rank from Karnataka is hand-in-glove with underworld element Bannanje Raja, and has been helping him carry out underworld crimes since the last several years.
This has been reportedly revealed by Bannanje Raja during interrogation in Casablanca on Monday, February 16. Raja was arrested by Interpol and Indian RAW agencies in Casablanca, Morocco a few days ago.
"The agency has refused to disclose the name of the officer at this moment, but it is learnt that a senior police officer, who is currently holding the responsible post of ACP, had very close contacts with Raja. The officer was reportedly helping Raja by providing vital information and clues about noted builders in the coastal region and Bengaluru. In several cases, this police officer acted as a mediator between Bannanje Raja and businessmen to settle matters for fixed sums. He was a negotiator too. In several cases when builders recieved threats and extortion calls, it was this officer who tipped Bannanje about them," said sources from Morocco.
"Bannanje considers the police officer as his GURU, and had saved his mobile number in his cell phone under the same name of 'GURU'. Surprisingly, the same police officer had played a vital role in arresting Bannanje Raja in the early 90s in one of the cases," the source added.
"The same officer had served in Udupi and Mangaluru as circle inspector," sources revealed.
The Indian RAW agency has gone to the root of underworld activities which have been disturbing the business community and their families too.
Sources also claimed that other than this senior officer, nexus of some other police officers is also suspected. More detail on this is expected to be revealed once Raja is brought back to Bengaluru.
It may be recalled that a Dubai-based hotelier had taken the courage to disregard threats from Bannanje Raja and gone to complain, and with the help of Indian as well as UAE authorities, Raja was traced in Morocco.
