Mangaluru: Perpetual adoration in Bishop House chapel inaugurated

Mangaluru, Feb 18: Bishop of Mangaluru, Dr Aloysius Paul D' Souza inaugurated Perpetual Adoration facility in the Bishops House chapel on February 18. The chapel will be open everyday from 3 pm to 7 pm for adoration on all the days of the year.

“Mass and prayers were being held in the chapel in the past and the new facility is provided in order to stress on the need to pray. It will facilitate devotees to pray for their needs and cleanse their souls”, said the Bishop.

“Man is a living creature with life, body and soul. The body at times becomes a burden for the soul. The thoughts of a man are not known to anybody else other than his soul. Similarly the will of God is known only to Him. Perpetual adoration helps a man to derive God's blessings and maintain a sentimental relationship between the body and the soul.A person gets inner strength, peace and love by such prayer”, said secretary of the diocese, M P Noronha.

Vicar General of the diocese Msgr Denis Moras Prabhu gave a key note address. Episcopal Vicarvar Fr PiusD'Souza, Sr Shalini, Fr Andrew D' Souza and others were present. The devotees can send their intentions over mobile No. 8971373737.

Congratulations Bishop Aloysius and my friends on inauguration of perpetual adoration facility at Bishop's house which will indeed be very useful for all God's people visiting to pray for God's grace and thanking Him. Construction of House of God is very important than other commercial buildings vestige of temporal domain.Let us build spirituality and save souls.

Very good thing. I only hope it doesn't end up with only the Reverend sisters doing the adoration.

A very good initiative by the church at this Lenten season. It is a need of an hour, where Christian s are under going terrible persecution. This kind of activities will help one to rekindle his faith in GOD. Let this facility be used to it's best. Hope to see that the time will be extended to 24 hours adoration

Its a very good step taken by Bishop of Mangalore. It is a need of the hour. When other denominations have prayer centers like "Jesus Calls", we too are required to have it and Mangalore Diocese has taken right step. Facility now provided by the Bishop soon be extended to full 24 hours so that any ones genuine prayer requests could be attended at any time through prayer lines.
