Atlanta, Feb 11 (IANS/EFE): Reports that the daughter of late singer Whitney Houston, Bobbi Kristina Brown, will be taken off life support "are false", according to the family lawyer and spokesperson Christopher Brown.
Brown released a statement Tuesday calling the reports "offensive" and warned that he would deal with the media "at the appropriate time".
"The false reports that continue to appear in print and on the Internet are egregious, false and will be dealt with at an appropriate time... The desire to be first has clouded the judgement of many reporters as they forgo accuracy. This is a criminal investigation and the integrity of that process requires silence," said the lawyer.
Hundreds of people gathered in a church here Monday night to pray for the 21-year-old, who has been hospitalised in an induced coma since Jan 31.
That night she was found unconscious in the bathtub by her beau Nick Gordon, 25, and his friend Maxwell Lomas, 24.
According to the local media, the incident is under investigation by authorities, focusing on Gordon, who has a history of domestic violence.
Several local media outlets have reported Bobbi Kristina having several injuries on her face and mouth, pointing to a possible altercation between the couple.
Although Bobbi Kristina had publicly declared she was married to Nick Gordon, her father's lawyer said this week that the two never wed.
She and her boyfriend have lived together since Houston decided to take in Gordon when he was a 12-year-old orphan.
Bobbi Kristina is the only child of Bobby Brown and Whitney Houston, who died in February 2012 at the age of 48, drowning in the bathtub of a hotel in Beverly Hills after years of struggling with various addictions.
