Mangaluru: With record collection, 'Chaali Polilu' completes 100 days in theatres

Mangaluru, Feb 6: Superhit award-winning Tulu film of the year ''Chaali Polilu'' has set a new record in Tulu film industry with a successful run of 100 days at three theatres at a time.

The film is being screened at Jyothi, Big Cinemas and PVR Cinemas in the city.

'Chaali Polilu' is the first film ever to complete 100 days at PVR Mangaluru. Apart from this the film had also completed 75 days' run at 5 theaters simultaneously, which is also a new record when it comes to Tulu film Industry.

The film is produced by Prakash Pandeshwar under the banner Jayakirana Films and directed by Veerendra Shetty Kavoor. The film has already crossed record box office collection of Rs 2 crore.

'Chaali Polilu' has been highly appreciated as a family entertainer conveying a good message, watched by a large number women and children. The film has also seen successful shows in Bengaluru and Mumbai, and the team is all set to release the movie very soon in foreign countries.

After the success of 'Chaali Polilu' the entire Tulu film Industry has got new hopes and it is said that most of them have reqistered the title to start new movies. 'Chaali Polilu' has set a new future for many aspiring actors and actresses. At recent Tulu Cinemotsava, the film won 8 awards in different categories including Best Film (Viewers' Choice) and Best Director.
