Puttur: Wine shop owner accidentally falls at under-construction house, dies

Puttur, Feb 1: In a tragic incident, the owner of a wine shop located in Darbe here passed away after he suffered a fall at his under-construction house here on Sunday February 1.

Sridhar Gowda (56), owner of Jyothi Wine Shop at Darbe, is the deceased.

It is said that Sridhar had been to his under-construction house at Bedrala to oversee the curing of the concrete. When he was on the terrace of the upper floor, he slipped on the wet floor and fell to his death.

He was rushed to government hospital in Puttur but was pronounced dead on arrival.

Sridhar is survived by his wife and two daughters.

Puttur town police have registered a case.

    We can justify ourselves, saying why he had to go up and oversee the curing which is supposed to contractor’s job.

    Whether to blame negligence or bad times. Nothing is in our hands. That is called destiny.

    Indeed tragic. The family must be in a shock.

    I remember a similar incident in Bangaluru, in an under-construction school, the principal (a nun) had gone to inspect the works and had a fall resulting with her death.

    I pray that the soul of the deceased rests in peace and his family members find solace and come to terms with their loss.
