Mangaluru, Jan 30: The inauguration and blessing of the renovated building of St Ann's Home for the Aged at Angelore was held here on Friday January 30.
A solemn mass was offered by Dr Aloysius Paul D'Souza, bishop of Mangaluru, followed by felicitation programme.
Sr Sherina gave a floral welcome to the guests.
In her inaugural address Sr Jacintha Mariappa, provincial superior, said, "As we have experienced the abundant love of God, we need to thank Him. Religious sisters see God in each and every member of the society. It is the grace of God which makes them dedicate themselves to the cause of the abandoned senior citizens of the society. It is the time to thank and congratulate them on their dedicated service."
Speaking at the occasion Bishop of Mangaluru said, " The renovation is done to provide more comfort and benefits to the senior citizens who live the house. We have thank the donars and sisters for making the long awaited dream into a reality. The sacrifice and dedication of the sisters, God will return them back in abundance. The children should never forget the love and sacrifice of the parents, we have to pay them back when they are old and in need."
Fr Mathew Vas, parish priest of Guardian Angel parish, Angelore, Fr Pius James D'Souza, Carmelite priest, C J Lobo engineer, Dev Kumar and Lilly Nonis of Karnataka Agricultural department were present at the occasion.
Sr Celine, superior of St Ann's Convent proposed the vote of thanks.
