Bantwal, Jan 30: A case under the Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences Act was registered in Vittal police station on the night of Thursday January 29. The accused named in the complaint is Rajab (53) from Karaje in Salethur near Vittal.
Reportedly, Rajab had invited a ten-year-old girl, who happens to be the student of a school, to his home in the afternoon of January 23 and raped her. It is gathered that Rajab has four wives and 23 children. The girl's mother said in her complaint that the complaint was filed with delay as the father of the girl had been out of station. The police have in the meanwhile, been making efforts to arrest the accused.
Kolnad-Salethur Hindu Hitarakshana Samiti has condemned the heinous act and demanded for the immediate arrest of the culprit involved. In view of the sensitive nature of the case, the policemen have tightened vigil in the villages around Vittal.
