Mumbai, Jan 3: Singer Kumar Sanu's driver allegedly committed suicide at the performer's unoccupied bungalow in northwest Mumbai, the police have said.
Sajid Mohammed Khan (33) committed suicide by allegedly hanging himself from a fan at the bungalow "Sargam" in Versova, a police official said. He was last seen on Monday night and the exact reason for the alleged suicide was not known.
Khan's body was found on Tuesday morning in a room on the first floor after he failed to open the door when some gardeners went to the bungalow, the police said.
Speaking to reporters at the bungalow, Sanu said Khan had been working with him for the past six years and had been staying in the bungalow for the last seven months.
Sanu, however, denied his driver had committed suicide due to financial reasons, saying he used to pay him well and had given Khan an advance of Rs 3,000 for Eid which was celebrated on Monday.
Khan was reportedly entrusted with the responsibility of selling off the bungalow situated in the Four Bungalows area, and taking care of the singer's dog.
