Kundapur, Jan 27: Police on Tuesday January 27 raided an illegal slaughter house at Kudru in Gulvady here and rescued nine cattle, including three calves.
The accused, Abubakkar and two others, who were allegedly running the slaughter house illegally, managed to escape.
Acting on credible information, personnel of the Kundapur crime branch and police raided the place on Tuesday afternoon.
The police recovered ropes, knives, hatchets and other items used for slaughtering animals.
Kundapur circle inspector P M Diwakar, SI Naseer Hussain and other police personnel were part of the raid operation.
The animals were handed over to Kamadhenu Go Samrakshana Kendra at Hoovinakere near Vakwady.
A case has been registered in Kundapur police station.
