Mangaluru, Jan 10: Tulu film 'Rickshaw Driver' has won the Karnataka State Film Award for the Best Regional Film. The award will be presented in February.
The Karnataka State Film Awards are the most notable and prestigious film awards given for the film industry in the state. These are considered the highest awards for Kannada language films. They are given annually to honor the best talents and provide encouragement and incentive to the south Indian film industry by the government of Karnataka.
'Rickshaw Driver' was released on September 27,2013. The film received excellent response upon release. It had Karthik Attavar, Sara Sharma and Neha Saxena in lead roles. The film potrayed a beautiful message of communal harmony in Dakshina Kannada district.
The movie was produced under the banner of Sri Muthu Film’s production, with Praveen Kumar Konchady as the producer. He also wrote the script, story and screenplay. His maiden Kannada movie ‘Ekameva’ had won second place in Mexico Film Festival and two Karnataka State Awards.
The movie, directed by Ha Su Rajashekar of ‘Oriyadori Asal’ fame, has music by Wahab Saleem Puttur, action by Kaurav Venkatesh, and choreography by Madan-Harini. Niranjan Babu Bangalore and Vijay Crasta Melkar with camera and Keshava Suvarna with art have contributed significantly to this movie.
Upon public demand, the film's climax has been changed and the film is all set to re-release soon.
