Puttur, Jan 9: On Thursday January 8, hand-written messages with chalk pieces were found on an internal road near Vivekananda College here apart from a culvert. The messages called upon people to get into ISIS, and contained derogatory remarks about Swami Vivekananda.
Vivekananda Engineering College is located about a kilometre from Nehru Nagar here. These writings were found on the road and culvert on Paddayoor Road on the other side the college.
'If you do not get job in campus interviews, join ISIS and destroy the companies which conducted your interviews,' says one English message, while the other just says, 'Join ISIS". In another place, ugly comments were made about Swami Vivekananda. The timing of the appearance of these writings have given rise to suspicions about the motive of the writers of these messages.
As part of the golden jubilee celebrations of the institution, a programme will be held soon, in which one of the top leaders of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, Dattatreya Hosabale, and union minister, D V Sadananda Gowda, will be participating. The administration and police department cannot take these writings lightly, and will have to take additional security measures, it is being felt.
