Bengaluru, Jan 8: The state high court, which has completed hearing relating to a petition filed by Karthik Gowda, son of union law minister, D V Sadananda Gowda, seeking to dismiss a case of rape filed against him by a sandalwood actor, has reserved its orders. It may be recalled that an actress named Mythriya Gowda had alleged that Karthik had raped her.
Placing arguments on behalf of the petitioner, advocate, K M Nataraj, pointed out that the very complaint filed by Mythriya suffers from duality. He argued that the case was filed with the specific intention of harming the reputation of the family of Karthik, whose father happens to be a union minister.
Advocate for Mythriya Gowda argued that the petitioner had enticed his client into believing that he would marry her. He said that after winning over her trust, Karthik had raped Mythriya.
After hearing the arguments, the high court reserved its orders for a later date.
