Mangaluru: Countdown begins for mega Melwyn Peris nite

Daijiworld Media Network, Mangaluru (RJP)

Mangaluru, Jan 7 : Yoddling king Melwyn Peris is all set to stage his nite on Sunday, 11 January 2015 at St Agnes special grounds at 6 pm sharp.

The present nite comes only after a month of staging the previous one. There is a reason for that. Multi-faceted singer Melwyn Peris who held his 100 th nite on 23 November 2014 at the same venue feels that the nite remained incomplete and hence the 'Sangeeth Ghar' his home banner in association with ICYM central commitee, Mangaluru  have decided to hold yet another Melwyn Peris nite on 11 January 2015.

The nite on 23 November 2014 was a huge success where thousands of music lovers had turned up to witness the historic event. But rains which poured during the later part of the nite interrupted and shortened the duration of the nite. The organizers could not perform all the songs as planned. Now the whole nite as planned earlier will be performed again. This is another history in a different way. Two nites become one. Both part of the number 100.

"I am not going to number the nite to be held on 11 January 2015 as it is part of the 100 th nite." says Melwyn.

Melwyn Peris is the only composer and singer in Konkani after late Wilfy Rebimbus to complete 100 nites. It is no doubt a crowning glory in his musical career.

Once again it offers an opportunity for Konkani music enthusiasts to see a swashbuckling performance from Melwyn and his troupe.

Rony D'Cunha , Anitha D'Souza, Ivy D'Souza, Shilpa Cutinho, Robin Sequeira, Zeena Pereira, Nestor Peris, Rony Crasta, Doreen D'Souza, Iqbal and Lavita Lobo will render their melodious voices to the show.

There will be comedy skits by Jerry Rasquinha and his team members and dance shows by Naach Sobhann.

'Sangeeth Guru' Joel Pereira will arrange the music, supported by musicians Roshan D'Souza Anjelore, Jerome Coelho, Muralidhar Kamath, Melwyn Fernandes,Theo Alvares from Goa  supported by musicians from Calicut and Trissur..

Jerry Rasquinha, Leslie Rego, Titus Noronha and Melita Pinto will compere the mega event.

There will not be any stage programme. Music lovers will get pure music during the free show.

The show will be webcast live by www.daijiworld.com on January 11, 2015 at 6.00 pm.
