Mangaluru, Jan 7: Former union minister Janardhan Poojary has asked many questions targeting speaker Kagodu Thimmappa.
"Kagodu Thimmappa can criticize, it is not wrong. But I will continue this issue. No one can bring changes in me. To know who Poojary is, one has to be re born. Do you want to revolt against the government or uproot the democratic system?" said Janardhan Poojary in reply to the speaker Kagodu Thimmappa's remarks on the government and on himself.
A press meet was organised by Janardhan Poojary at district Congress office on Wednesday, January 7 where Poojary launched series of questions targeting Kagodu Thimmappa.
Addressing the media Poojary said, "In the history of India, a speaker has never questioned, whether in parliament, in assembly, in council or anywhere, as to whether any government is required or not. Are you going to create your own history? Are you trying to unstable the Government? Do you know the rules and procedures applicable to every person? There is no separate rules and regulations for you. This is a serious matter."
"How can you say maintain discipline in politicians, when you do not have the discipline? You do not belong to any party. What will you answer when a member of Vidhana Sabha questions on your discipline? There is no different constitution for you. Speaker's position is the most respected position which is higher than chief minister's" he added.
Further on Thimmappa's remarks on him, Poojary said he has been loyal to Congress from the day of joining the party.
"Poojary has won four times in elections. I have not come from different party like Thimmappa did. I have never left the party or joined another party for power. Thimmappa is not the one who built the government, it was built by 6 crore people of Karnataka. There is opposition party to oppose the works of ruling party. But you are taking opposition party's duty into your hands." he continued.
"Thimmappa said that he does not know who Poojary is. He is talking like as if he has grown very older and he is forgetting everything." he blasted.
"When you were the health minister, how many hospitals you visited and how many districts you visited? "he questioned Thimmappa .
Poojary praised present the health minister U T Khadar as 'Boy' for his restless work towards the needy ones.
Kallige Taranath, Vijayakumar Shetty, Arun Coelho and Hari Krishna Bantwal were also present during the press meet.
