Australia reach 348/2 at stumps on day one

Sydney, Jan 6 (IANS): Australia dominated the Indian bowlers as they reached 348 for two at stumps on day one of the fourth and final cricket Test at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) here Tuesday.

After a 200-run stand for the opening wicket between David Warner (101) and Chris Rogers (95), skipper Steven Smith (batting 82) and Shane Watson (batting 61) continued to thwart a substandard Indian bowling attack.

Mohammed Shami and Ravichandran Ashwin were the only wicket-takers in the day. The hosts lost both their wickets in the lunch session.
