Mangaluru, Jan 6: A brutal murder of a businessman and a member of a political party has taken place in Soorinje near Kinnigoli on Tuesday morning, January 6, 2015.
The person murdered is Keshava Shetty (35). He is surived by wife whom he had married only last year on February 20.
As per reports, the deceased was the partner of Carline garage in Hosabettu and an active member of BJP. It is gathered that Keshava Shetty was on his way to play his usual badminton at around 6 am on Tuesday morning when unknown assailants hacked him to death.
The number of assailants were four and they had masked their faces.
It is alleged that a person named Prashanth alias Pattu from a ganja mafia is a prime suspect in the murder. Prashanth is said to have spent a month in jail after Kehava Shetty filed a complaint against him at Suratkal police station. It is alleged that Prashanth had threatened Keshava openly about consequences.
The police have already started the investigations. It is gathered that two persons have been already taken into custody.
Post mortem has been done at Wenlock hospital. The police commissioner S Murugan has visited the place of the crime.
