Rio de Janeiro, Jan 3 (IANS): Rio de Janeiro giants Flamengo are considering a bid to sign former Real Madrid and AC Milan forward Robinho.
Robinho joined Flamengo's Brazilian rivals Santos on a year-long loan deal from AC Milan in August, reported Xinhua.
But the 30-year-old could be tempted away by Santos' dire financial plight, which has led to delayed wage payments, according to ESPN Brasil.
The move is understood to have come at the behest of former Real Madrid and Brazil coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo, who is now Flamengo's manager.
Robinho has scored nine goals from 21 matches in his third spell at Santos.
Earlier this year, the Brazil international was linked with a move to new US Major Soccer League (MLS) franchise Orlando City.
