Kasargod, Dec 25: In a shocking incident, a youth was killed by his father and brother and his body thrown in a well. The crime came to light to light on Thursday December 25, twenty days after it took place.
Subba Nayak (61) and Ganesh (22), have been arrested by a team led by DySP T P Ranjith in this regard.
Tirumalesh (24), son of Subba Nayak, went missing 20 days ago, after which the locals had informed the police. The police started investigations, and on Thursday, the matter came to light.
The police visited Subba Nayak's house, and during interrogation, he and his son Ganesh are learnt to have admitted to the crime.
The murder took place on December 5. On that night, Tirumalesh reportedly came home drunk and created a ruckus. The fight that ensued, Subba and Ganesh allegedly hit Tirumalesh and hacked him to death. They then threw the body in an unused well near their house, without anyone's notice.
The body was retrieved from the 50ft well and sent for post-mortem to Pariyaram hospital.
Tirumalesh's sister is married. The mother died sometime ago. Since then, only the three men - Subba Nayak, Tirumalesh and Ganesh - used to stay in house. Hence, nobody knew about the murder until now.
