Beltangady, Dec 25: Two persons died on the spot and at least two others were injured in a ghastly accident near Dharmasthala here on Thursday December 25.
The deceased have been identified as Jayamma (55) and Puneeth (30) from Jayamahal near RT Nagar, Bengaluru.
The accident took place between an Indigo car and a KSRTC bus at Puduvettu cross.
The Indigo car was moving from Bengaluru to Dharmasthala, while the bus was plying from Dharmasthala to Mysuru. When the car reached Pudubettu cross, the KSRTC bus rammed into it, killing two instantly.
Puneeth was said to be the driver of the Indigo car. There were five persons in the car.
Three others, identified as Prashanth, his wife Radha and their two-and-a-half-year-old child Yashika who were injured were rushed to hospital.
Police sources said that negligence of the KSRTC driver caused the accident.
The Indigo car was completely smashed in the incident.
A case has been registered in Beltangady police station.
