Kundapur, Dec 16: The leopard scare in the rural areas of Kundapur has continued with one more cow falling prey on Monday, December 15 late night in Kuruwadi of Adodu village in Kundapur taluk.

A cow belonging to Sura Poojary has been eaten by the leopard. Only the remains could be found later.

Only a week back, another cow was eaten in the area. While people are very worried about the appearance of the leopard, the forest officials have not done much to protect them. This is complaint heard from the villagers.

People have spotted the leopard even during the day. The attempt by the forest officials to catch the leopard did not yield any result, and the leopard now moving in the vicinity without any fear.

It is said that people have stopped venturing out of their houses unless it is absolutely necessary.

Kundapur region deputy forest officer Dilip and Lohith visited the area on a fact finding trip on Tuesday, December 16, which is a small relief to villagers. But until the leopard is really caught, their fears will not subside.

dear Willy, Mangalore and others who wrote about protecting the leopard and also mentioned everybody has the right to live on the earth. Now there is a question to all of you, if a Leopard , with the same reason as there is no proper forest around to stay, come near your home vicinity and pick son or daughter who is playing outside... will you still say no fault of the Leopard because it's hungry and they were it's food. Just think of then comment. It's easy to write all these. but when you see your own people or animals like cow eaten by these wild animals, you will never think on all these stupid things. you will be dying to kill this animal and save your loved ones. It's same with all. We all know wild animals and has the right to live on earth and all. But it's the opinion to get rid of these animals just because it has become threat to our loved ones. That's it. If the forest department do their job of picking them and leaving them at right destination ( forests ) such problems will not arise. Same time, we are not ready to spare our loved ones to these wild creatures because of these department's mistake.

Don't the leopards of South Kanara know that they should only eat dogs, chicken, mutton and pork?
I think they did not receive the circular yet that beef is off limits. Perhaps our SK 'Cow'boys can deliver the circular to the leopards in person.

It is surprising that our present state govt. is not acting on these leopards too.

Built more concrete jungles, this will be the outcome, where these animals will go. All creatures are created by God, so respect everything in life. Let everything prevail on the face of this earth and dont cross boundaries to destroy our beautiful nature with unnatural beauties. All will pay from the wrath of God.
