Security stepped up in Bengaluru; no cause for worrry, says DCP

Bengaluru, Dec 16 (PTI): In the wake of recent threats that the city will be the next target for Sydney like hostage crisis and today's terror attack on a Pakistan's army school, police have increased security at certain important places here.

"There is no need for public to be scared or worried because of this threat... we have conducted anti-sabotage checks at some vital places," DCP Central (Bengaluru) Sandeep Patil told reporters here.

He said, "We have also posted police personnel at certain important places like malls. We have identified important places and taken precautionary measures."

"We will be taking all precautionary measures that are required and there is no reason to be worried," he said.

Stating that there is absolutely no threat perception to the country's IT capital, Bengaluru Police Chief M N Reddi had yesterday downplayed a threat on the micro blogging site that the city will be the next target for Sydney like hostage crisis.

He had also promised to thoroughly verify the source of these claims.

In a 17-hour-long hostage drama a lone heavily-armed man of Iranian-origin had held 17 people hostage at a cafe in Sydney that ended late last night with the police storming it, resulting in three deaths.

More than hundred students were killed as heavily-armed Arabic speaking Taliban suicide attackers stormed an army-run school today in Pakistan's Peshawar city, also using hostages as human shield.

The presence and arrest of alleged handler of Pro-Islamic State Twitter account Mehdi Masroor Biswas in Bengaluru on Saturday had also raised concerns about security situation in the country's IT capital.

these security issues should be taken as serious. I agreed Mr. Roshan's comment about bullet jackets.

we spend lot of money for public security, but nothing in working conditions. If they are working properly then there is no Monitoring by our Security forces.
Even many Railway stations in India having plenty of ENTRY and EXIT ways. We keep one system in Public (I think for Advertisement of the Security System Providers)place mainly ticket counter area.

So please do proper arrangements for better life o f Citizen.

The massacre of young children is one of the examples that terrorists have no religion. Their enemy could be anyone who oppose their nefarious and fanatic motives.

Time now Pakistan to uproot these evil and fringe groups in the interest of humanity world over.

    Adil Khan, a small correction.

It is an example that victims of terrorism that have no religion. Whether people killed on the indian sides or in Pakistan, they are targeted irrespective of religion.
But terrorists in majority of the cases do belong to one religion.

Dear Shanker, Most of them trying to divert the terrorist act to blame one community. From sept 11 attack people started blaming one religion for every incident. what about Hitler killed millions of People, where they not belong to one religion?, what about Gujarat riots more than 2000 people killed and raped by one religion, what about Hiroshima Nagasaki millions of million people killed. so how come u say most of the terrorist have one religion. whoever done terror act are terrorist. And all religion condemn it. there are murderers in every place. And religion have nothing to do with it.

EVERY TIME POLICE WILL PROVE THEMSELVES FOOLISH BY ALLOWING THE CRIMINALS TO RUN WHILE TAKING THEM TO COURTS. THIS WILL BE DRAMA JUST FOR FEW DAYS AND THEN IT HE PASS THRU IN FRONT OF THEM THEY COULD NOT IDENTIFY HIM AS CRIMINAL.
PAK ARMY HAS PAID FOR ITS MISDEEDS BY ALLOWING THE TALIBAN TO GROW WITHIN THE ARMY OVER THE YEARS OTHERWISE HOW COULD THE TERRORIST COME IN BYPASSING SECURITY NORMS.
