Mangaluru, Dec 14: A social activist named Chand Pasha from Karim Nagar in Andhra Pradesh has filed a complaint in Pandeshwar police station here, charging a couple of people and a agency from here of defrauding 19 persons from Andhra Pradesh by offering lure of good jobs in Saudi Arabia.
He has named Khader and Hassan Anwar Saudi from Alake here of convincing 19 job aspirants from Andhra Pradesh last year that he happens to be a sub-agent of Mumbai-based Anwar General Services Corporation. He made these workers to believe that they would get well-paying jobs in Afnan Al-Mashirik Contracting and Catering Services East Company of Saudi Arabia.
He has alleged that these persons were made to shell out amounts ranging from Rs 65,000 and Rs 85,000 to Palepu Raja Gangaram, Oruganti Devadas, and Renjirla Raveendar alias Rejendar, said to be sub-agents of the said company. These persons were sent to Saudi Arabia on July 20, 2013, after their visa stamping and visa clearances were got done through Arifa Tours and Travels, Nellikai Road in the city.
These people, after reaching Saudi Arabia, suffered a lot as they did not possess Iqama residency permits. Moreover, two of them, Murugu Chinnanarasaiah and Raguva Mallesh, were arrested and put behind bars, the complainant said, duly accusing the above persons for their sufferings.
The accused have also been charged of getting visas of these persons stamped unauthorizedly with the connivance of airport personnel, backed by the purpose of duping these job aspirants.
Pandeshwar police, who have registered the complaint, have begun investigation.
