Mangaluru, Dec 9: White Doves NGO is all set to spread the spirit of Christmas around the city with its annual street show titled '2014-year-old Fact in a Mobile Act', to be held for four days from December 11 to 14.
Addressing a press meet here on Tuesday December 9, founder president of White Doves Corrine Rasquinha said, "The spirit of Christmas in Mangaluru will be lighted with the White Doves street shows titled '2014-year-old Fact in a Mobile Act'. For the 20th year in a row, the White Doves NGO has involved in taking care of the destitutes, running two homes here in Mangaluru with over 114 inmates all picked up from the streets of the city irrespective of their caste, religion or creed.
"White Doves will be staging its street plays as we approach the Christmas season in and around Mangaluru. These shows in song and act bring together over 135 artistes from varied backgrounds to pool in their talents. These shows have been drawing huge crowds and are well appreciated by the general public. Each year the people look forward to the uniqueness of the shows. The actors range from a 40-day-old baby to a 65-year-old man," she said.
This year the mobile shows will be performed at the following places:
Thursday December 11 at 7 pm - Fr Muller's grounds Mangaluru
Friday December 12 at 6.30 pm - United Mission Jubilee Church grounds, Udupi
Saturday December 13 at 6.30 pm - St Francis Xavier School grounds, Kolalagiri
Sunday December 14 at 6 pm - Nehru Maidan and 8 pm at Padua School grounds, Mangaluru
The shows are of one-and-half-hour duration and free of charge.
Vitus Rasquinha, trustee and Jerald Fernandes, manager were present
