Mangaluru, Dec 8: In the third incident of its kind in less than 24 hours in the city, a person was stabbed near Kunjathbail here on Monday December 8.
Sharif (38), a chicken trader by profession, was stabbed in broad daylight.
Eyewitnesses said that two persons came in a bike and attacked Sharif with sharp weapons and fled. When another person who was with Sharif tried to stop them, they pushed him and escaped.
Locals said that Sharif knew the persons who attacked him.
He was rushed to hospital by his elder brother.
CCB inspector Valentine D'Souza and DCP K V Jagadish along with Kavoor police arrived at the spot.
Speaking to daijiworld, Valentine D'Souza clarified that this incident had no connection with the Ulaibettu communal clashes. He further said that the victim was stabbed on the back, and he's now out of danger. He added that the police are still in the process of gathering further information.
On the night of Sunday December 7, two persons were attacked at Bajpe and Bunder in separate incidents.
