Bengaluru, Dec 6: In terms of the state high court verdict, Sri Raghaveshwara Bharathi Swamiji of Ramachandrapur Math, who is facing charges of raping a devotee, was subjected to medical tests on Friday December 5. The procedures lasted for nearly five hours.
A five member team of expert doctors conducted the tests at Nephro-Urology Institute functioning within the premises of Victoria Hospital here.
It is gathered that 13 tests including blood, urine, diabetes, blood pressure, ECG, were conducted. The governing council of Sri Ramachandrapur Math said that none of the tests conducted on him were of embarrassing nature and hence requested the devotees not to be unduly perturbed. Media secretary of the Math,Krishnaprasad Ammankallu, said that the Swamiji had fully cooperated with the medical team.
The Swamiji, obeying the high court order, presented himself for medical tests at 8 am on Friday in empty stomach. The medical team headed by medical superintendent of Victoria Hospital including Dr C R Chandrashekhar, Dr Veeranna Gowda, Dr Venkataraghav, and Dr H Chandrashekhar, performed the tests and collected samples.
A release clarified that the Swamiji did not undergo potency test as he had already stated before the court and criminal investigation department (CID) officials that he has all attributes of a grown man. Blood samples for conducting DNA profile were however collected, it is gathered.
Medical superintendent of the hospital, Dr Durganna,s said that 13 kinds of tests were performed on the Swamiji and that the reports thereof will be delivered to CID police within 15 days.
