Bengaluru: Raghaveshwara Swamiji undergoes 13 medical tests for five hours

Bengaluru, Dec 6: In terms of the state high court verdict, Sri Raghaveshwara Bharathi Swamiji of Ramachandrapur Math, who is facing charges of raping a devotee, was subjected to medical tests on Friday December 5. The procedures lasted for nearly five hours.

A five member team of expert doctors conducted the tests at Nephro-Urology Institute functioning within the premises of Victoria Hospital here.

It is gathered that 13 tests including blood, urine, diabetes, blood pressure, ECG, were conducted. The governing council of Sri Ramachandrapur Math said that none of the tests conducted on him were of embarrassing nature and hence requested the devotees not to be unduly perturbed. Media secretary of the Math,Krishnaprasad Ammankallu, said that the Swamiji had fully cooperated with the medical team.

The Swamiji, obeying the high court order, presented himself for medical tests at 8 am on Friday in empty stomach. The medical team headed by medical superintendent of Victoria Hospital including Dr C R Chandrashekhar, Dr Veeranna Gowda, Dr Venkataraghav, and Dr H Chandrashekhar, performed the tests and collected samples.

A release clarified that the Swamiji did not undergo potency test as he had already stated before the court and criminal investigation department (CID) officials that he has all attributes of a grown man. Blood samples for conducting DNA profile were however collected, it is gathered.

Medical superintendent of the hospital, Dr Durganna,s said that 13 kinds of tests were performed on the Swamiji and that the reports thereof will be delivered to CID police within 15 days.

    Your mindset shows contents of sewage from your statements. Can anyone get DNA from it ? In this unique case, we can see how hell bent are some in defaming the swamiji.

    Bye the way he is just a Swamiji for us. Why are you bothered about his Tests & decoding it ?

    For you it may be a shame, but he has respected the verdict by appearing to Test the very next of receipt of Verdict.

    Swamiji has respected the Court verdict & appeared for DNA profile test from Blood, the very next day on receipt of the Verdict copy.

    The Medical lab can check the DNA profile with those found on clothes. The Swamiji has served the basic purpose of test by giving Blood for DNA test, & the other Tests are required only if the person pleads that he is impotent. Since begining of this case, he had told that he was a normal man, & only a Man can become pontiff in Math, & no where he had pleaded other way round. So when he himself had made clear before Court, what is the need for those things ? Isn't it clear that some wested interested people are hell bent to defame him ?

    Being a Medical Practitioner, you might be knowing that DNA profile whether taken from Saliva, Hair follicle, Skin, Tooth, Blood or Semen, all will be same. Isn't it ? Though I'am not a Doctor, many Doctors says so. DNA from any of the above is sufficient to check with DNA found on counterpart. Normally if anyone is hospitalised general check-ups will be done as BP or so, & so if Doctors found it necessary they might have done it, & everything is on record, which please note.

    In PublicTV debate few days back, a doctor had mentioned it clearly saying that just Saliva or Blood or Skin piece is sufficient. Same time the lawyer in that debate had clearly told that if your methord is used, tomorrow everyone might be forced to Semen Test, just if a complaint of rape is filed against a person with true or fraud intention.

    Now actually who is actually fooling ?

    After failing in attempts to avoid the medical test, it is obvious that Swami’s high profile legal team intentionally advised Swami to continue evading the law and natural course-of-justice by refusing some of the most crucial medical tests.

    With foresight: sensing that the crime lab will come out with a case-to-case match and acquittal is impossible, the team decided to take steps right now. The Swami refused the most important tests related to accuracy of DNA profiling, in order to fight the verdict at a higher court, at a later stage! Compared to DNA from epithelial or blood or saliva or hair follicle, DNA from semen is the most important source of forensic evidence in sexual assault cases.

    Although the investigators are legally bound to ensure all the mandatory tests are carried out since otherwise it is considered as contempt of the court’s orders, it must be noted that in rape convictions the list of material evidence includes biological items of the offender and not just DNA. Also in our country, majority of rape convictions do not involve DNA since circumstantial and documentary evidence is more than sufficient under IPC.

    Strangely, one cannot comprehend the so-called Govt. doctors collecting urine and doing BP, diabetes sugar or iron deficiency tests, matters totally irrelevant. For those unaware, urine does not contain DNA.

    The days are all gone, when many in the community hopefully expected a sincere apology for a shocking sin (once or multiple times, on mon or fri, day or night, a rape is a rape) that has all sorts of circumstantial, documentary and forensic evidence. Instead of humbly surrendering to face the law, there appears no end in sight to the shamelessly cunning Swami’s escapist attitude, arrogance, defiance & now real contempt of court!

    Justifying as to why he decides and refuses to take ALL the medical tests mandated by the Supreme Court or give the crucial DNA swab from reproductive organ, the Swami brazenly challenges the court and society: Yes, he decides what specific tests can be done under the silly guise that his freedom will be violated and personal liberty harmed!

    ONE SIMPLE QUESTION:
    When victim was raped multiple times, did the accused or anyone else have an iota of thought regarding freedom, harming personal liberty ..etc? Not to mention the shockingly one-sided treatment, unwarranted arrest, repeated interrogation during solitary imprisonment for over a month!

    Will he finally succeed with his crooked tactics, manage to laugh it off and escape after the pseudo-medical test?

    Or will justice prevail?

    Swami Nityaananda laughed his way in and out of courts & labs, making a mockery of the law & investigations. Now our Swamiji’s repeated actions and defiance has rocketed to amazing heights of ridicule and contempt!

    While shamelessly claiming innocence and making tall promises of cooperation so that the truth comes out, right from the start: we all know how this Swami tried his level best to avoid everything that would help the truth come out, from questioning to medical test.

    Finally, despite last minute, futile excuses that he needs one more week, needs time to finish prayers..etc, the honorable court forces the medical test. Regretfully, the canny, obese Swami makes a drama of attending the medical test (an exact repeat of the CID questioning drama) and brazenly refuses to undergo the three most crucial and mandatory tests, including sweat sample, inner cheek swab and the all important forensic DNA phenotyping using penis sweat/semen analysis and Y-Chromosome testing

    No wonder, independent channels in the media are obviously commenting that a pseudo-medical test is nonsense if not a sham, and the honorable court must swiftly intervene with a stricture and a significant fine for initially keeping the doctors & lab technicians waiting for a day earlier due to a no-show and finally taking all on a expensive ride while keeping the court in total contempt. By ‘’agreeing ‘’ to irrelevant tests that can be done in a roadside lab like Height, Weight, BMA, Blood Pressure, Sugar, Glucose, Iron Deficiency..etc, all of which have nothing to do with the forensic aspects of the medical tests intricately connected to a rape, scientific tests that have been vouched for by the Supreme Court!

    Having outsmarted everyone, it is probably celebration time within the ashram. Swami and his corrupt advisers are now all set to get the scorn of everyone in society, not just the court and investigators! When did accused get liberty to decide what law is applied or what tests are done?

    Being swamiji, there is no need to invoke god to know what tests are conducted.
    The court want to establish legitimacy to premalatha shastri's complaint approved potency test among other related tests, which are absolutely required for court to Swamiji is not guilty.
    But the real thing is that ..., whatever the court rule based on available facts & information, Brahma (and of course swamiji as well)even know what happened (i.e., subject matter of allegation/compliant) or what prompted premalatha shastri seek justice.

    Medical tests should be done on places or on organs from where
    action was initiated. Is it not?
    Simple 'medical thought from a layman'. what use 'testing' elsewhere.
    Think the doctors are thinking from their armpit.
    Now take this case....
    Suppose a shot is fired. You examine the Bullet and then the Gun , the trigger right?? Do you conduct tests on a cauliflower just because it was near the vicinity? No..No...You sayHy it's silly. same case.

    Please check any Medical experts on DNA subject. Just any part of body like sawages of Saliva, Nail, Hair, Skin, Blood, Tooth, etc. is sufficient to know the DNA profile, & so Blood it taken for test. Here how come you know that 'Action was initiated' ? If you had any evidence you could have provided to IA . Isn't it ? He had never told that he is impotent & he had made it clear that only a Man can become the pontiff in Math, & he was a ordinary Man. Definetly DNA profile is sufficient to cross check with DNA on clothes.

    We now know the Godman is no ordinary Swami, he is a FRCS and Medical expert, he decodes what tests need to be done, while he got a free BP and Sugar test done!!

    What a shame and absolute travesty of law!

    thats why u r dumb!! are you not getting the trap here! in case if they need to arrest him tomorrow.. victim should not come back and say I have history of diabetes/BP etc, cos they already have the report!... these are the same CIDs who went to Girinagar ashram in 10 mins, from session court near mysore bank, in that busy traffic!... either they knew what was coming as order and were hell bent on taking him into custody for medical tests!! ...Siddramayya has taken this as prestige point, it looks like!

    Police now dont have any other issues, cos as a Swami he can't fly out of the land and doesnt' even have a passport... his ashram is not like Baba rampal or Brahmins will have an army of theirs ever! ... so, now what? the tests are done with! ...

    Police were over active in arresting the complainant and locking them up for 1 month in Honnavar right?At whose behest? You try it on some woman and see? Blatant misuse of law.
    Do not hold candles for anybody and rant.This impairs the vision every time.
    Even if there was a scheme to trap
    the Seer should have known of the company he kept and that the singing and dancing damsel was dangerous.

    It pains one to see such a religious and sacred legacy being brought to such disrepute owing to whims and fancies of a few...
