Margao, Nov 24 (IANS): I-League side Dempo SC Monday announced that they have secured the services of British defender Calum Angus for the 2014-15 season. He played for Pune FC in the last season.
Angus, a product of the Portsmouth Academy, will be an important addition to coach Arthur Papas' side.
"I am very happy and I’m looking forward to this exciting challenge with Dempo SC. I had a couple of offers from Sweden and Thailand, but after I spoke to Papas, my mind was made up and I signed for Dempo SC immediately," Angus said in a statement.
"I was very impressed with the vision Papas had for the club and the style with which Dempo SC played last season. The club has built a very good squad under the guidance of Mr Papas and I will give my best for the club and have a great season.”
Dempo SC coach Papas expressed his excitement at the development.
“We are extremely pleased to announce the signing of Calum Angus for the upcoming season. He is a player we coveted for some time after his impressive showing last season and has many characteristics both on and off the field which match the culture we are trying to establish at Dempo SC. We are very confident he will play a major part in helping Dempo SC achieve its goals for the coming season.”
