Mangalore, Nov 4: The 90th birthday of K B Jaypal Shetty, chairman, Sri Ramakrishna Cooperative Society Ltd, will be celebrated on Sunday November 5.  The celebration has been organized by the staff of Sri Ramakrishna Credit Cooperative Society along with the relatives of Jaypal Shetty.

This was announced in a press conference by Brig Niranjan Hegde, son-in-law of Jaypal Shetty here on Saturday November 4 morning.

K B Jaypal Shetty had completed his mechanical engineering course in Victoria Jubilee Technical Institute, Mumbai, before undergoing flying training and apprenticeship in aircraft maintenance and aeronautical engineering in UK, USA, Holland and France.  He started his career in Royal Air Force during the World War II.  He went on to serve the Royal Force for the next 6 years before moving to Ambika Airlines and then to Air India International as aeronautical engineer.

He joined the civil aviation department of the union government in 1950 and served the same for the next 25 years.  He started Sri Ramakrishna Cooperative Credit Society 10 years ago and today the society achieved enormous growth owing to his vision and dedication.

Venugopal Shetty son of Jayapal Shetty and Bhaskar Rai Kukkodi were present at the press conference.
