Mangaluru, Nov 4: A number of activists of various Hindu outfits, who held a mega protest demonstration at Suratkal against arresting Hindu Jagran Vedike leader, Manoj Kodikere under Goonda Act, expressed displeasure at the police department, which they said, was becoming a stooge in the hands of the government. Terming the above action as unjustified and unwarranted, they aired their anger at the government in general and police in particular.
Leader of Hindu Aikyata Vedike, Kuntaru Raveesh Tantry, addressing the protesters, vent his anger at what he termed as an act of vengeance on the part of the state government. Stressing that there is a need to vehemently oppose such policies, he warned that the government will never be able to succeed in its agenda of decimating pro-Hindu organizations even if it resorts to arrest every protester who had assembled at Suratkal under the Goonda Act.
Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader, Jitendra Kottary, vowed that Hindu organizations will continue to fight against injustice as long as illegal activities including Love Jihad and illegal trafficking of cattle thrive in the state. He told the police force that they will come across strong resistance from the people if they try to crush the unity of Hindus by applying Goonda Act under the advice of the state government.
Leaders like advocate, Vasudev, Franklin Monteiro, state joint convener of Hindu Jagran Vedike, Satyajit Suratkal, addressed the protesters.
Bajrang Dal leaders, Sharan Pumpwell and Mahabala Poojary Kadambody, BJP leaders, Umanath Kotian, Subhash Padil, Jayaram Acharya and several others were present.
