Mangalore, Oct 31: A unique programme to create awareness among children on art and culture has been planned by Chinmaya Educational Institution in association with Bharath Beedi Works Pvt Ltd.
The programme 'Bhiti Chittara Bidi Shringara' will be held on November 2 in Chinmaya High School campus.
Briefing the press on the event Taranath Kairangal coordinator of the programme said that the programme has been planned to create awarness on art and culture and to initiate children into creative activities.
The one-day programme will be inaugurated by Mamatha D S Gatti president DK Zilla Panchayat.
B Ganapati Pai, president of Bharath Beedi Works and vice-president, Chinmaya Education Institution will preside over the function. Prof M B Puranik, president and founder of Sharada Educational Institute will be the chief guest, said Kairangal.
Well-known artist Gopadkar who is also the founder of Swaroopa Research Group will speak on the art and richness of wall paintings. P N Acharya, member of the Karnataka Lalithakala Acadamy, Bangalore will also be present on the occasion, Kairangal added.
Shubha Vishwanat, convenor and Vimala R Rao headmistress of the institute were present in the press meet.
