Udupi: DC Pattan Shetty transferred, Dr R Vishal to take charge

Udupi, Oct 28: Deputy commissioner of Udupi district S S Pattan Shetty has been transferred, just two months after he assumed the post in September.

He will be replaced by Dr R Vishal, who is currently the commissioner of food, civil supplies and consumer affairs department.

The state government issued the order for transfer of several IAS officers on Tuesday October 28.

Pattan Shetty, who took over as DC of Udupi district on September 1, has been appointed the commissioner of state food and civil supplies department, sources said.

37-year-old Dr R Vishal is an IAS officer of the 2004 batch. He has earlier served as DC of Chikballapur district and additional commissioner (elections) in Bangalore Bruhut Mahanagara Palike (BBMP). He has served in various departments such as finance, revenue and health. Before taking up IAS, he completed his MBBS from KIMS, Hubli in first division.

    It's so shame on government ( both state as well as center) to take such decision and not allowing any officer to learn the process in each district , this should not happen at all , people should ask questions to the government , otherwise district will not progress at all due to regular transfer, make sure officers are not corrupt n keep on eye when they serve longer time any district

    Welcome to Udupi dear Dr Vishal.
    i have one issue illegal sand supply Manipura/kurkal near manipura maszid, we lots of time complaint to DC,Thasidar and mining dept, but last 25 year ongoing supply. result of sand supply near river coconut tree coming down or damaged and around 3 to 4 people die when crossing river. respected sir please take preventive action action against illegal sand supply and save our environment and coconut tree please.

    Recent past whoever comes to Udupi and Mangalore region as DC or PC, never allowed to do their job for more than one year! So, we can assume how our present Govt is functioning bowing to local pressure from MLAs’. Dirty politics wide spread in UP or Bihar but now Udupi and Mangalore is not exceptional too

    British Ruler’s created ICS and IP civil servant’s for smooth functioning of administration of Un divided India. Those day’s they are considered Back bone of India.

    After Independent our so called elected reps renamed them as IAS, IPS, IRS, IFS…etc and back bone’s became spine less.

    They are utilised like foot ball’s, booted in and out according to will and wish of elected reps and full filled Sir.Winston Churchil Prophecy..
