When I was in Oman, i saw for the gas cylinders there is a device fitted to the cylinder. when there is a leakage if in case fire reaches till the nozzle of the cylinder the device immediately plays an important role.It melts and blocks the cylinder in order to stop the gas then and there itself. Thus protecting human lives and property. Why in India cannot introduce such device?

Authority shall make compulsory to use safety valve burners. NO flame NO gas flow (flame supervision device). Majority of the cases, when food item (Rice, milk) overflow flame extinguishes but still gas flow continue unit unless knob (Valve) closed and accumulate in the area (Kitchen) . Then small ignition, either light switch on-off or refrigerator on-off can trigger explosion. Now a day’s majority of foreign country implemented or made compulsory to sale safety valve installed burners /gas cookers. Furthermore, one more device called as "slum shut-off valve shall be installed at the cylinder. It can be fixed just like we fix the regulator. Regulator to be attached at the SSV out let. This will prevents the gas leakage from the flexible hose from cylinder to cooker and also periodical inspection and replacement of flexible hose is mandatory. As rubber hose have their own life span. Become brittle on lengthy use.

    What a devastating impact!

    Thank God only minor injuries.

We have to be always extra careful when igniting gas. First ensure that all the knobs are in off position. Chances are there that some knob was kept semi open or not properly closed.
