Mangalore, Oct 26: Railway minister DV Sadananda Gowda has clarified on the issue regarding increase in his assets in five months after assuming office of Union minister for Railways.
Addressing the press meet at his residence, in the city here on Sunday October 26, DV Sadananda Gowda said, "I secured a loan of Rs 8 crores from Federal Bank and I also received Rs 2 crores as rental advance from the rent owner from the building I purchased".
Briefing about the increase in asset, Gowda said, "During September 2013, I had contacted Federal Bank for loan for the purpose of business. On November 20, bank sanctioned me Rs 8 crores as loan. Meanwhile as the Lok sabha elections approached, I could hold talks with the owner of building about the rental advance and rental agreement. Hence, it was decided to postpone the talks for temporary period. Immediate after elections, before counting, I got into business and on April 23, 2014 bank sanctioned me the loan. Even I got rental advances by the rent owners. On November 23, I made sale deed on my name. During the elections, while filing the nomination, this property and building was not with me. Within a week after the elections, after discussion with owner, I got this property into my name transparently within the limits of law.
"As my responsibility and to continue transparency in administration, at the end of June, I submitted all details to PMO's office about the Rs 2 crores rental advance and 8 crores Federal bank loan details. This is not acquired illegally or by misusing the ministerial positions. It is all done within the limits of law", he added.
He also said that he bought the three storey building of 36,000 square feet from K V Naidu, which he has given for rent to M/S Ramaiah Foundation.
"As a responsible person, it is my duty to brief people about the row over the increase in my asset after being elected as a Union minister. From the past 25 years, I am into the field of politics and have done personal business along with politics. I never misused public money”.
He also release the proof of documents to the media on this occasion.

Bangalore, Oct 26: Railway Minister D.V. Sadananda Gowda has clarified on the issue of increase in his wealth after becoming the minister.
Gowda on Saturday rejected the claims made by the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) and National Election Watch (NEW) that increase in his assets was the highest among the council of ministers since the Modi government took over, from Rs 9.88 crore at the time of election to Rs 20.35 crore.
M.S. Ramaiah group of Institutions has said that it did not sell any property to Sadananda Gowda. Gowda has also now stated that he bought the property from a third person not from M.S. Ramaiah group of Institutions as alleged.
"I secured a loan of Rs 8 crore from Federal Bank and I also received Rs 2 crore as advance from those who wanted to be tenants in my buildings. My submission has been wrongly interpreted. All my transactions are transparent." Gowda said.
Gowda also said that the transaction had taken place much before the election results were announced.
