Moodbidri: Elderly woman dies after being hit by motorist

Moodbidri, Oct 21: An elderly woman has died after being hit by a motorbike while crossing the road.

The incident occurred at Beluvai on Monday October 20. The deceased has been identified as Jalaja Poojarthi (65), wife of late Chandayya Poojary of Beluvai.

She crossed the road at Beluvai Aliyoor road and the bike hit her at this. She fell on the ground and got injured on the head.

Though she was rushed to the hospital, she died on the way. Moodbidri station police have registered a case against bike rider Moodumarnad resident Ramesh Acharya and are investigating.
