Mangalore / New Delhi, Oct 16: The National Commission for Minorities (NCM) is sending a team to JD(U)-BJP ruled Karnataka to probe the communal trouble in Mangalore.

Another NCM team has been sent to Gujarat to probe complaints about distribution of central financial relief to Muslim victims of post-Godhra riots in the BJP-ruled state in 2002.

NCM member Harcharan Singh Josh will be leaving for Mangalore on Tuesday to probe the communal flare-up in the city earlier this month, commission sources said.

The NCM has sent its vice-chairman Michael Pinto and members Dileep Padgaonkar and Zoya Hasan to Gujarat to probe complaints relating to riot relief.

Since February, the NCM has sent its fact-finding teams to up, Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh and Rajasthan.

In its reports to the Centre, the NCM has found that the state administration in up took no measures to prevent communal clashes during Ram Navami in Aligarh and sought central intervention to address complaints of harassment by Christians in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.
