Mangalore, Oct 16: BJP pocketed APMCs at Sullia and Puttur defeating Congress at the elections held on Sunday October 15. Thus BJP has snatched both the APMCs from Congress which was ruling them so far.
While BJP won 10 seats out of the 13 in Puttur APMC elections, it pocketed the Sullia APMC with a solitary seat. In Puttur Congress won 2 seats while remaining one seat was won by independent candidate. In a neck-to-neck contest at Sullia, BJP won 7 seats while Congress reigned supreme in 6 seats.
