Kasargod, Oct 9: Hosadurga police station have arrested a young girl who is accused of cheating many people posing as Health department official. The arrested girl is identified as Chervathur resident Shiny(24).
The girl is accused of issuing a dud cheque for Rs 35,000 after buying a laptop from a shop owned by Kanhangad's Bin Raj.
She had cheated many people saying that she is a clerk at the office of district medical officer.
A few months ago she had cheated a Lab Technician of Kanhangad of Rs 10,000 saying that her husband has met with an accident and she needs money for his treatment. She had cheated him saying that she is a nurse at the district hospital. A girl named Nisha was working in the district hospital. She had cheated the Lab Technician saying that she is Nisha. Lab Technician had telephoned the hospital and asked for Nisha.
He got the reply that Nisha is on leave. He believed that Shiny
is Nisha and gave Rs 10,000 to her. After coming to know about her, he filed a complaint with the police.
A few days ago she had telephoned a computer dealer and asked him to keep two lap tops and requisite bills ready. The owner of the shop who grew suspicious, complained to the police. The police arrested her when she came to the shop.
Police have said that she is involved in several incidences of cheating and are investigating.
