Australian woman being assessed for Ebola

Sydney, Oct 9 (IANS): A woman in Australia is being assessed in hospital for the deadly Ebola virus, media reported Thursday.

"The woman recently returned from Sierra Leone, where she was working in a hospital treating Ebola victims, and is being assessed in Cairns Hospital," a Queensland health official said, The Age reported.

"She is not unwell at this point in time," the official said.

"Test results could be available as soon as Thursday evening or Friday afternoon," the official added.

Earlier, a 25-year-old man and an infant sparked an Ebola virus disease scare in Queensland and Victoria, respectively.
