New Delhi, Oct 8 (IANS): The stage designed like a nursery full of plants, the sound of chirping birds in the background and models dressed in summer ensembles transported fashionistas from autumn to spring-summer seasons when Aneeth Arora opened the 24th edition of the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week (WIFW) Spring-Summer 2015 here Wednesday.
Known for her love for indigenous Indian crafts and weaves, the designer presented her collection, which was dominated by cotton khadi dress, shorts, chanderi tops, blue denims as well as cotton and silk shirts.
The hand embroidered daisies on chanderi dresses, hand and bead work embroidery on denim pants and tops with crochet detailing wowed the attendees.
Dominated by white, the collection also had a splash of pink, green, blue and orange.
The elaborate floral headband completed the summer look, which the models sported as they walked on stage that looked more like a nursery with potted plants and flowers. The music also complemented the look and stage.
Songs like "Honeysuckle rose" and “September in the rain" further took the attendees away from fall-winter seasons.
Organised by the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI), the five-day event is being held at Pragati Maidan here.
