Mangalore: Corporation Bank and TOLIC organizes Hindi Day

Mangalore, Sep 29: Corporation Bank and Town Official Language Implementation Committee (TOLIC), Mangalore jointly organized Hindi Day celebrations at the head office of the Bank in Mangalore on September 25,2014. S R Bansal, chairman & managing director, Corporation Bank and chairman, TOLIC, Mangalore presided over the function. Amar Lal Daultani and B K Srivastav, executive directors of the bank graced the occasion.

S R Bansal distributed prizes to the winners of various Hindi incentive schemes and competitions organized by the bank. He congratulated the participants for their enthusiastic participation in various competitions held in connection with the Hindi Day celebrations.

In his address S R Bansal highlighted the role of Hindi and Indian languages in the national mission on financial inclusion. He said that dissemination of information through Indian languages will improve financial literacy in the remote areas of the country.

In his presidential address, Amar Lal Daultani said that it is a necessity for any service or manufacturing organization to use the language of the masses to penetrate into the market.

In his welcome address, B K Srivastav said that the developing and the developed countries of the world have progressed by using their own languages. He encouraged the staff members to use official language in their day-to-day official work.

Presenting report on official language activities of TOLIC and the bank, N Vijayakumar, general manager listed out the initiatives taken during last year for implementation and propagation of official language. He also enumerated the achievements in the field of official language implementation.

Dr J P Nautiyal, deputy general manager, Corporation Bank and member secretary, TOLIC, Mangalore briefly dwelt upon the relevance of organizing Hindi Day and said that Hindi gives our nation a national identity and it is a thread which binds Indians all over the world. He also proposed a vote of thanks.

A cultural programme was also organized as part of the celebrations. Staff members of member organizations of TOLIC, Mangalore and Corporation Bank attended the programme.
