Udupi, Oct 7: A fisherman who had gone for fishing in the deep sea drowned near Malpe estuary on Thursday October 5. 

Shekhar Poojary (35), a resident of Parampally-Padukere had gone for fishing with his companions on Vinaya Prasad boat.  It was while returning that he slipped from the boat and fell into the sea near the estuary.  Despite efforts from his fellow fishermen to rescue him, the sea engulfed him.

His body was found on Friday October 6.  Malpe police have registered a case in this regard.
